WEEK 9 START EM IF YOU GOT EM

Start EM week 9

by Mike

These players should be very productive this week

QB Eli Manning – New England ranks dead last against the pass this season.  With a 102 QBR, Eli is having a terrific season and should have no problem putting up good up numbers for week 9.  With the probable absence of Hakeem Nicks, Eli will look elsewhere to get the job done.  Victor Cruz and Mario Manningham should be the benefactors.

QB Matt Ryan – In week 9 the Falcons head to Indianapolis to face the winless colts.  Indy has been horrible against the pass and with Julio Jones most likely back from injury Ryan’s field opens up.  I’m expecting the falcons to really stretch the field on Sunday and fantasy owners should expect a big pay-off.

RB BenJarvus Green-Ellis – This isn’t someone I would normally consider an automatic starter, however.  The Patriots face a Giants defense that has been gashed by RB’s all season.  I expect the Pats to use the run game often to help limit Eli’s time on the field.  Green-Ellis has had some solid performances this season already, look for another this week.

RB Frank Gore – Frank Gore has been a beast all season and with a matchup against the quickly fading Redskins I can’t see any reason he doesn’t have a huge game.  The Skins have given up over 350 yards to RB’s in the last 3 games (does not include Cam Newton’s rushing yards).  Frank Gore will having no problem putting up 115 and a TD.

WR Mario Manningham – Last week Manningham showed some life after a slow start to the season, with 6 catches on 9 targets for 63 yards and a TD.  Look for a strong game with Hakeem Nicks on the bench.  While Victor Cruz will undoubtedly steal some looks, Manningham should have his opportunity for big plays normal intended for Nicks.

WR Darrius Heyward-bey – D. Bey put some strong numbers up last week and is looking like his speed might match well with new QB Carson Palmer.  As Palmer settles in, and gets to know his new offense look for Heyward-Bey to reap all the benefits come this Sunday.

TE Brent Celek – This one could really go either way, Celek has been getting looks as of late but will it continue?  I think the matchup against the Bears is a strong play for him.  With athletic LB’s the bears will undoubtedly SPY Vick leaving some room across the middle for the TE.  I think you could safely bet on 65 yards and a TD.
